Mumps

Mumps is an acute infectious disease characterized by swelling of one or more of the salivary glands. Investigate and report all confirmed, probable, and suspect cases of mumps as soon as possible. There is no prophylaxis for contacts; however, individual and group contacts may require notification and follow-up. Every case of mumps requires review with an MHO.
