Invasive Meningococcal Disease (Neisseria Meningitidis)

Requires urgent follow-up. Immediately report any confirmed or probable cases to the MHO. Chemoprophyalxis of close contacts is preferably administered within 24 hours of diagnosis of the case, however still recommended for up to 10 days post-exposure. Immunoprophylaxis of contacts is also indicated for some contacts per BCCDC guidelines.
