Haemophilus Influenzae (all invasive types, including Type B)

All invasive haemophilus influenza specimens are reportable in PARIS. Haemophilus influenza type b (Hib) requires public health follow-up, including prophylaxis for high-risk contacts. The majority of haemophilus influenza specimens are not type B; however, due to the delay in typing results, all cases of invasive specimens should be assessed for high risk contacts.
