Timely public health follow-up is required for cases of acute Hepatitis A including post-exposure prophylaxis (immunoprophylaxis) – Administration of hepatitis A vaccine and/or immune globulin (Ig) as soon as possible after a known exposure to an individual with confirmed acute HAV infection. If reporting a new acute HAV, complete the BCCDC ‘Acute Hepatitis A Follow-up Form.
